CHICAGO BLACKHAWKS MATCHUP TEMPLATE
Designing motion graphics for the United Center is no joke. Our scoreboard is a seamless canvas with auxiliary corner screens and 3 wrap-around rings, and 3 ribbon boards wrap around the seating area as well. With tens of thousands of eyes on our work and a calendar jam-packed with games, it is paramount to ensure we can create graphics for the Bulls and Blackhawks that both make the most of our unique screens and are easily updated from day to day.
This template is one of several I’ve made for the United Center to both elevate our product and lighten our routine workload. Changing a single dropdown menu updates the logos, text, and tricodes to the Blackhawks’ next opponent on every screen in the arena, so all I have to do next is hit render.
As with all my projects, I used this as an opportunity to teach myself as well. This was my first project using auto-aligning text boxes, as seen with the right-aligning city names on the main videoboard and the multi-layer centering on the ribbon boards. Thanks to this project, auto-aligning and resizing text has become second nature in my templating work.
